* PERKINS 77 is an ongoing series of art prints, featuring: 77 different music icons from (roughly) 1977 • Each portrait is a signed and numbered, very limited edition of only 77 prints • All are illustrated by hand, and then hand-screened by Austin Master Printer Satch Grimley. This concept stems from being an avid young teenage music fan in the 70s. I was 14 through most of 1977. What a magical time for music! The Perkins 77 Series is a personal tribute, but of course others can relate to it as well. It's literally the music that inspired me to draw band logos and images on my high school notebooks. It's the music that made me want to become a poster artist and design posters for bands. :) This entire series is just a two man operation: Me for the art, and Satch for the printing. On the printing side, there is professional craftsmanship in every hand-screened print. The Perkins 77 Series has garnered national attention, as well as praise from many of the performers, their estates and management. When it is finished, it will have been a monumental task, and will be displayed in galleries around the world. These will never be reprinted in any form - no second editions, no smaller prints, no coffee mugs, no t-shirts, no magnets - nothing.
